Lottery is a form of gambling where people choose a random set of numbers to win a prize. Some governments ban lotteries, while others endorse or regulate them. Some players are serious about winning, and some are just interested in having fun. Either way, lotteries are not for everyone.

North Dakota Lottery

The North Dakota Lottery is run by the government of North Dakota. It was created in 2004 after a constitutional amendment was approved by the voters. Since then, the Lottery has become an immensely popular way to win big money.

New York Lottery

The New York Lottery is a state-run lottery headquartered in Schenectady. It has been operating since 1967 and provides revenue for public education. It is also a part of the New York State Gaming Commission.

California Lottery

The California Lottery’s mission is to provide supplemental funding for public schools and colleges. The funds are discretionary and help schools attract and retain better teachers, purchase equipment and keep critical programs running. Since its launch in 1985, the lottery has given public schools in California more than $37 billion in grants.

Texas Lottery

The Texas Lottery is a government-operated lottery in Texas. It is run by the Texas Lottery Commission, which is located in downtown Austin. The lottery draws millions of dollars in prizes every year.

Florida Lottery

The Florida Lottery is a government-operated state lottery. As of 2022, it offers eleven terminal-generated games: Mega Millions, Powerball, Florida Lotto, Pick 2, Pick 3, Pick 4, Fantasy 5, and Jackpot Triple Play. The lottery is available in over two million Florida communities.

Pennsylvania Lottery

The Pennsylvania Lottery is operated by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It was first established in 1971 by the state’s General Assembly. Its first executive director was Henry Kaplan.

Delaware Lottery

The Delaware Lottery is run by the state of Delaware. It was authorized by the state legislature on May 31, 1974. The Delaware Lottery also offers video lottery, Keno, and sports betting games.

Virginia Lottery

The Virginia Lottery is an independent agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia. It was established in 1987 after Virginians voted in a statewide referendum to create a state lottery. The first ticket was sold on September 20, 1988.
