The latest developments regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict are increasingly attracting world attention, especially with increasing tensions since mid-2023. In the last few months, attacks and retaliations between the two sides have become more intense. One of the factors triggering this escalation is Israel’s settlement policy in the disputed territories, which continues to be a source of controversy and dissatisfaction among the Palestinian people. One of the key events was the attack on the Gaza Strip in November 2023, carried out by the Israeli military under the pretext of responding to rocket launches from the territory. These attacks resulted in many casualties and serious infrastructure damage, worsening the already critical humanitarian situation in Gaza. In response to this attack, the Hamas group announced that they would continue to fight and defend the rights of the Palestinian people. Apart from that, the diplomatic process at the international level also plays an important role in this new development. Several countries, especially Arab countries, called for a summit to be held to find a peaceful solution. However, until now, there is no clear consensus to resolve the conflict. In international forums, such as the UN, many countries condemn Israel’s actions which are considered to violate human rights. Inside the West Bank, the movement of Israeli settlers is increasingly unstoppable, with many new settlers establishing illegal posts. This action encouraged Palestinians to hold demonstrations, which often resulted in clashes with Israeli security forces. On the other hand, Israel claims that the construction of these settlements is legal according to law. This situation creates a cycle of violence that is difficult to break. In an effort to attract world attention, various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) also play an active role in disseminating information about the humanitarian situation in Palestine. Many reports reveal the need for emergency assistance to meet the population’s basic needs, including clean water, food and health care. New initiatives are also emerging from various international actors. Several countries, such as Egypt and Qatar, have acted as mediators to facilitate dialogue between Israel and Palestine. This effort aims to defuse tensions and seek a long-term agreement that is acceptable to both parties. However, major challenges remain, especially in terms of trust between the two parties. Social media also plays a role in spreading information and mobilizing support for Palestine. Hashtags and digital campaigns dominate the discussion space, drawing global attention to this issue. Increasing public perception has the potential to influence the foreign policies of major countries regarding this conflict. The sense of despair and anger among the Palestinian people is increasing along with the prevailing uncertainty. Many feel that a two-state solution is increasingly far from reality. Palestinian leaders also face pressure to act more decisively, and some have proposed a new, more aggressive approach. The decision to deploy international security forces to conflict areas has become a new discourse in discussions regarding resolution. This proposal aims to create a safe zone for civilians and reduce the potential for clashes that could result in more casualties. Pressure from the international community for Israel to stop building settlements and respect human rights continues. The anti-Israel movement in various countries is also increasingly gaining support from young people who consider this issue important for global justice. In this context, prolonged conflict is not only a regional problem but also a humanitarian issue that receives widespread attention at the global level.
